How to match a business shirt with a suit and tie
Do you feel more sorry for the guy… or for the girl who has to hold his hand…? Man, this dude must be seriously minted (get it !!!! lol) Ahh, maybe instead of trying to crack jokes which are clearly bad we at Amalfi Shirts should focus on helping you out with what we do best and that’s fashion for men. Let’s turn our attention to matching mens business shirts, ties and suits.
For many men running late in the morning, matching business shirts, ties, cufflinks and suits can seem an almost impossible task. It doesn’t have to be, if you follow our four simple steps below you’ll be dressed for success.
Step #1
Pick your suit first. We’re assuming here that you own classic business coloured suits such as dark blue, black or grey. This will act as the foundation to the rest of your ensemble. Lay it down on your bed.
Step #2
Next, pick your business shirt. The shirt colour should be coordinated with the suit, eg a blue business shirt goes well with a dark blue suit, or a grey suit. If you want to wear a striped shirt, make sure you match the dominant colour of the stripe with your suit.
Step #3
If you’re wearing a tie, pick one that has some element in it that is the same color as the shirt’s dominant color. For example, wear a blue striped shirt with your blue suit. Pick a tie with blue tones in it to coordinate. Think of the suit, shirt tie combo as moving from more conservative to less. So depending on your company’s culture, (and how far you want to push it) your choice of tie is the opportunity to be more expressive.
Step #4
Try to remember the combinations that look good together. You don’t have to always wear these, but knowing what looks good may make life easier when you’re in a rush and avoid that sinking feeling when you step into the office and realize you’re dressed like you don’t care of have no idea!!
So remember, pick your suit, then business shirt, then tie, and you’ll be set!
