How to match business shirts and ties

We are continually amazed that some guys just have no idea when it comes to basic fashion sense. We have collated some of our favourite tips to ensure you can keep on top of your game! Maybe treat it as more of a checklist so you can sleep easy or pat yourself on the back but the basics are all too often cast aside in the name of fashion.

Solid color business shirts provide a classic look and make it easy to match with most ties. These are not only versatile and suitable for all occasions but also timeless.
Want to set up to the plate are you ready for the bigger challenge? With the range of patterned business shirt options comes a new set of rules. Patterned business shirts can be somewhat difficult to match however here are some tips to point you in the right direction:
- You can only have a pattern on pattern when one pattern is much bolder than the other.
- You can wear a striped shirt with a striped tie as long as the stripes are not identical in size.
- Make sure there’s at least one color in your tie which matches something else you’re wearing: your suit, shirt, or your belt/shoes
- Avoid the trifecta of a striped business shirt with a striped tie and a pin-striped suit. Matching three similar patterns together is rarely going to be a winning combination.
