You don’t need a Master’s degree to tie a Windsor Knot

You might be thinking that tie is just a tie but not to the trained eye. Those in the know can spot a Windsor knot a mile away and you can be pretty sure so can your work colleagues. If your not making a Windsor knot you aren’t doing yourself or your Amalfi business shirt justice. Like anything practise makes perfect and once you learn how to tie a Windsor knot you won’t go back- trust us! We at Amalfi Shirts have pulled some helpful hints together to make your knot tying experience just that little bit easier so stick with us. Once you have conquered the Mt. Everest of knots you’ll walk just that little bit taller and feel pity for those who know no better than how to wear an uneven and inferior tie.
Amalfi Hints:
- First off, make sure that the wider end of the tie is approximately 15cm longer than the thinner end
- Cross the wide end in front of the thinner end
- Bring the wide end through the loop that was made between the tie and the collar of the shirt
- Next pull the wide end underneath the narrow end and toward the left then all the way over to the right
- Pull the wide end back through the original loop that was made between the tie and the collar
- Finally bring the wide end down through the knot in front
Now the easy part, taking it off! The best way to remove your Windsor knot is to follow the steps taken to do it up but in reverse order. Good luck with this one, you’ll get the hang of this with practice and never look back.
